 Goodyear is a city situated in Maricopa County, Arizona. The last United States Census Bureau report has recently estimated that the population of Goodyear was quickly surpassing 65,000 residents. Goodyear was the third fastest-growing place among all cities and towns in Arizona overall in the last decade.
There has been quite a substantial amount of investment in the future of Goodyear with bringing the spring training of not one, but two, baseball teams to the city. The Cleveland Indians of baseball's American League are having spring training at Goodyear Ballpark, which opened in 2009. The stadium has approximately 8,000 seats. Sharing Goodyear Ballpark will be the Cincinnati Reds during their spring training as well!
Recently, in 2008, Goodyear was awarded the distinction of the All-America City Award. Just north of the city of Goodyear, in a biannual event, Luke Air Force Base welcomes the public on the military base to one of the most diverse and exciting air shows in the country. In the last air show back in 2009, the Thunderbirds (the U.S. Air Force's Aerial Demonstration Team) were showing off their aerial acrobatics for everyone to see. Furthermore, there were countless other aerial presentations, numerous aircraft and ground displays, exhibits, and attractions.
